Still got the crochet bug

I have done some more hand stitching but it is on the Georgetown turnaround which is still very much WIP.

I think I am working my through my crochet obsession as I am beginning to think about all the hand sewing projects I am yet to do...so little time and so many projects yet to do

I've got the Crochet bug

......so much so that I have managed to whip this little number up over the weekend....might make it into a cushion.  (Pattern is found here). 

Guess what everyone might be getting for Christmas......

Then I could not decide on which block to do next so I had a go at a few

Then I made this great cushion cover. The pattern "Mable" can be found here.  I am experimenting with colour combinations based on the wool I can get my hands on.  You know when you start making something you get that feeling that this is NQR well that is what I had with this one.

This is one side I just have to make the other side

Some Patterns.......

I made the mistake of taking one of the "Littles" with me to shop for some fabric.  I came home with these.

 

I've still got to make the ones the "Littles" asked forced  me to buy last time they came shopping with me.



And then there was more....

Fabric that is. You can never have enough.

I went to a hand made market on St Patrick day and here is what I walked away with....can't say that it fits under the hand made category though.

Then I went shopping and bought some fabric for my boys quilts that are yet to begin.

Then some fabric for girls quilts - as I have a few of them to make this year.

Making Presents

Instead of buying Easter presents I made the teachers a needle book.  I made a few mistakes but it was my first  attempt.....

I have also been finishing more Georgetown Turnaround blocks....

and I have been crocheting again.  Its growing..... albeit very slowly

Voilà, Ta-dah, Hooray........

It's FINISHED...(well all except the quilting).  Totally hand pieced and it only took 2.5 years to finish.

  

I am just not sure that I am brave enough or patient enough to hand quilt this.

....And just so you don't think I have been absent for all this time and doing nothing...I am experimenting with fruit cakes.  I made this one which is a peach cake....it is from the latest Better Homes and Gardens and it is a from Weight Watchers...does that mean I can have more because it was very yummy.

I have also made a yummy pineapple cake from the Woman's Weekly via Auntie H...I just forgot to take a photo and this was very yummy as well...I will just have to make another so that I can take a photo.

Life won't be the same....

My beautiful Mollie girl died yesterday.  She was almost 15 years old and has been with me for almost half my life.  She was a significant part of my family.  She has traveled with me through life and been part of the ups and downs, the tears and laughs.  She had her own special quilt that I made for her.  It was pink and blue and she slept on it when inside. 

Now she is resting and is not sick any more. 

Life won't be the same without her.
